Optimize Your Time

The amount of time that goes into starting and running a successful business is more of a time commitment than people imagine. You will start to have little time to do the things you love, but it truly is a matter of priorities. After years of trial and error, I have finally found a system that works for me and wanted to share the three biggest obstacles that I had and ways to manage them.

Cleaning

Ask for recommendations of local cleaning services that can come and help you manage your home economics so you can focus your time on nurturing your startup in its infancy. This will help you have a fresh space to come home to and help you build a though-out system that will be ready to scale because you have given it the proper attention.

Workouts

Running a startup and finding time for workouts is very difficult, but so essential to balance stress and keep your body and mind in equilibrium. My first year and a half of running my company was so hard. I really struggled with finding a balance and was so busy that I was not in a consistent workout routine. I have found that because I make decisions for my companies all day, that I enjoy workouts that allow me to think freely. I gravitate towards running, yoga and dance--especially ballet or jazz. I have become an early morning person (my mom can't believe it) and found that getting up and working out is often the best approach, but sometimes I am getting up and head straight to the office to finish projects too. If I can get my workouts done in the morning, that's the best. Otherwise I will find little 10 minute pockets of time throughout the day to do something. Even if it's little, consistency is key.

Food

Fueling your body with the right nutrients is so essential. I have struggled with working late hours and then finding time to come up with meal ideas, go to the grocery store and then make dinner every night too. Then I had a friend recommend Green Chef to me and that is how I have done dinner for quite some time now. Everything is fresh, organic and shipped to you once a week with recipe cards. They have 3 diet options and I prefer to eat the plant based because I find my body feels lighter and functions the best.

Running a company is not easy. It's 10x harder when you are building the brand from the ground up. As you embark on your journey, try to implement some of these recommendations and let me know how it goes!
